2006 Agenda

The Historical Research: 16th Century to the Present Seminar will have three dimensions to its programme this year.

First, we will focus on the teaching of liturgical history by (a) sharing recent reading that has influenced us in our work, (b) sharing our syllabi from the courses we teach with a discussion of our teaching and (c) learning from Ken Burreson as he offers a paper on liturgical theology that emerged from his experience as a participant in the Wabash Center's Workshop on Teaching and Learning.

Our second dimension will centre on a paper by Jim Turrell on Hooker and common prayer and on the introduction to Frank Senn's book on the social history of the liturgy with an eye towards using the book as a common reading assignment in preparation for the 2007 session of the seminar.

Finally, we will hear from our dissertationists and our members as they discuss their own recent research interests in our on-going commitment to supporting each other in research and teaching.
