Liturgy and the Performing Arts
Mission Statement
The Liturgy and Performing Arts Seminar engages in the study of performing arts which we understand to be:
- Primary expressions of faith that generate liturgy and theology in the public sphere
- Strategies for ritualization
- Methodologies that enhance cross-cultural learning
- Disciplines that communicate competency in liturgical leadership and create self-awareness of worship leaders
- Primary attention will be given to performers and performing arts theorists integral to the study of liturgy
Presentations for this seminar include formal papers, mediated presentations, case studies, and experiential events.
