2006 Agenda

Number of participants: 6-8

This past we shared reflections on our approach to the postmodern adventure as “critical consciousness.” The focus of discussion was the book by Cathy Caruth, Unclaimed Experience: Trauma, Narrative and History (Baltimore: The John Hopkins University Press, 1996). Caruth is a leading voice in trauma theory and the possibility of meaning. How will the writing further our search for a “new language” not only for the study of liturgical theology but also for the whole theological enterprise? Member of the seminar presented selected chapters. We were glad to welcome several newcomers into our discussion as we exchanged, from many different angles, our reflections on the implications of postmodern thought.
